Description
The Alhambra Linea Profesional Cedar Top Classical Guitar is absolutely the best Spanish guitar in its price range. It has superb volume and projection, with strong basses and clear trebles. Due to an innovative bracing pattern, it has better clarity and projection than most cedar top guitars. (Click here to hear the pronunciation of "Alhambra".)

With deluxe features, solid-top construction and enormous performance features including a surprisingly remarkable projection and clarity, the Linea Profesional is a classical guitar that is designed to bring your music center stage. This guitar will always be ready for the demands of any performance situation. The Linea Profesional is available in solid cedar top with rosewood back and sides that produce warmness, richness, clarity, and perfection to any musical piece. The neck is constructed by the Alhambra luthiers to satisfy the demands of any player; it offers great feel and playability. In addition, this guitar presents excellent traits expected from any Alhambra guitar that include beautiful hand-made rosette, bone nut and bridge saddle, and very elegant tuners.
Alhambra includes an extra saddle with this guitar. It is a taller saddle, giving you the option to adjust the action height but still keep the original saddle as a backup.
The Alhambra Linea Profesional features Alhambra's ErgoNeck. The ErgoNeck is the result of the continuous research developed by Alhambra Manufactures to improve the ergonomics of the neck. Thus, we can favor the position of the left hand. Due to its asymmetric shape, the ErgoNeck can be adapted in a more natural way to the guitarist. (See illustration above.)

How does this guitar compare to others?
I've played this guitar in side-by-side comparisons with several other instruments. My conclusions are below. (Geoff Ferdón, owner of XGuitars.)
Linea Profesional vs Premier Pro Madagascar
On the open strings, the Linea has strong, deep, basses where the Premier Pro's basses are more traditionally-balanced. The Premier Pro's open string chords are clearer, but more quiet than the Linea. At the 12th fret, the Linea's trebles are rounder and more bell-like. In the 7th position, the Linea seems more balanced where the Premier Pro has a stronger mid-range. This is with D'Addario XTC44 extra hard tension strings installed. With Savarez Alliance strings, the trebles will be more prominent and I believe that would make the Linea Profesional the better-sounding guitar, with more energy and good balance.
Linea Profesional vs Cordoba Esteso
In the 1st position, the Linea Profesional Spruce is louder with clearer trebles and stronger basses. The Esteso sounds very nice, but sounds a little bit muffled compared to the Alhambra. In the 5th, 7th, & 12th positions, I prefer the Esteso. The trebles are rounder and also more precise and resonant, with a bit of a punchy quality.
Linea Profesional vs Cordoba Friederich
In the 1st position, the Alhambra is louder and more expressive, with clearer trebles and stronger basses. In the 5th & 7th positions they are very similar. In the 12th position The Friederich trebles are louder and also more precise and resonant, with a bit of a punchy quality. Savarez 540J strings would make the Alhambra's trebles louder and the overall volume and tone better. This likely would make the Alhambra more obviously a better choice.
Linea Profesional vs Cordoba Rodriguez
The Linea Profesional has a smoother and fuller sound, with more volume in all registers. The sound of the Rodriguez seems more inside the guitar where the Linea Profesional's sound projects better from the top. On the 1st string at the 12th fret, the Rodriguez is a bit sweeter, where the Linea Profesional has more clarity.
Linea Profesional vs Ramirez Estudio 3
The Linea Profesional is definitely a more refined instrument. It has a clearer tone, with more volume. The sound is more open and resonant than the Estudio 3. The trebles at XII are nicer and more pronounced than the Estudio 3.
IMPORTANT: This guitar features a 12-hole bridge. This design puts the strings at a higher angle relative to the saddle, allowing a greater transfer of energy into the top of the guitar at the saddle. This gives this guitar extra volume and resonance. It is very important that the strings are tied properly to prevent slipping. For instructions on how to tie the strings, please see the video below:
Recommended Strings: This guitar comes with D'Addario XTC44 Extra Hard Tension strings installed. These are not bad strings, but don't allow the guitar to live up to its full potential. I recommend the following strings for this guitar:
