In these times of buying guitars without the opportunity to hear them in person or play them first, I was extremely pleased with my experience with “XGuitars,” a company that I had not previously heard about, although they have been in business for over 20 years. I am not a classically trained guitarist, so I had concerns about the playability of the instrument I was interested in. That was no problem since XGuitars is one man, Geoff Ferdon. Geoff is a formally trained classical and flamenco guitarist, so he is significantly knowledgeable.
Geoff was able to tell me the exact height of the action of the 1st and 6th strings at the 12th fret and he understood my concerns. He is also just a nice guy and was patient with me. He listened to my past experiences playing a classical neck and answered all of my questions. Again, no problem, Geoff also does his own set ups, free of charge.
Finally, since there are no guarantees until you actually feel an instrument in your hands and hear it in person (without the enhancements that may be added in online videos), you can relax because Geoff also provides a reasonable return policy.
