A powerful sound, but at the same time delicate, that gives this concert guitar high-level attributes for interpretation.

The 11 P model is the highest-end before moving to the series called "signature models", Luthier's finest guitars.

The finishes of this model denote an important craftsmanship and a very refined image. It is worth noting the additional green line in the profiles, as well as the type of construction.

In this regard, the piece called heel, of the traditional construction system called "Spanish heel", in the 11 P model is composed of 5 pieces, while in the rest of the models it is only composed of a single piece.

It can also be seen that the fingerboard of the 11 P model is longer. The fingerboard extends through the mouth of the soundboard to introduce an additional fret. An element that is requested by qualified guitarists and that is necessary to play some musical pieces.

In addition, this instrument is built with bone in the saddle and nut, a material that has been traditionally used and whose vibration capabilities are exceptional. Characteristics that together with a careful selection of woods and an artisanal elaboration, produce a strong sound, with body and concert level.

The sound of the 11 P model is a powerful sound, but at the same time it can produce the most delicate and melodious notes with a sweet and refined sound.

In short, a guitar that responds amply to the demands of the guitarist and that when you have it in your hands feels robust, transmits energy and enjoys making it sound.

Some characteristics that provide this concert guitar with high-level attributes for interpretation.

Recommended Strings: This guitar comes with D'Addario EXP44 Extra Hard Tension strings installed.  These are not bad strings, but don't allow the guitar to live up to its full potential.  I recommend the following strings for this guitar:

Carbon: My favorite strings of all I've tried are Savarez Alliance set 540J. These strings provide great volume and resonance.  Being Carbon, they are a bit thinner in diameter than nylon strings. The tone is brighter and not as mellow as nylon strings. If you want a softer sound, nylon may suit you better.

Nylon: For nylon strings, I really like Savarez Corum New Cristal set 500CJ strings.  They provide a nice round tone, good volume, and a comfortable feel.

If you would like to have strings installed other than the ones that come with your guitar, you can add the Strings Installation Service to your order.

Alhambra 11P

What I liked most about the Alhambra 11P is its big, full sound and concert-level power. It reminded me of playing a Ramirez 1A, which has a 664 mm string length, as compared to 650 mm on the 11P. A remarkable guitar-building achievement, especially since the 11P's price is a fraction of the 1A's.

The sound of the treble strings in the upper positions is also crisp and clear, like a good spruce-top guitar.

Comparatively, in the middle pitch range, the 11P has a warm and rich tone, exemplifying one of the best advantages of cedar.

If you're looking for a concert-worthy cedar guitar with an earthy, Spanish sound, and the luthier-built Alhambras are beyond your budget, the 11P is a respectable choice. In particular, I don't recall playing any guitar in its price range with similar attributes that I thought was better.

The shipment of the guitar was prompt and handled very professionally.

Above all was Geoff's kindness and patience in dealing with my numerous questions about several of his guitars. The letter he included with the shipment was also a very nice, personal touch that I really appreciated.

11P is outstanding choice for classical guitar

The 11P by Alhambra is well constructed inside and out. The solid woods are exceptionally beautiful and well assembled (looking at the internal bracing). The five-piece ergonomic heel on the neck is extremely comfortable when playing the upper registers on this guitar. I love the extra fret. The sustain is wonderful and the tone is clear. This guitar was my best choice as part of their line of guitars and I love it!
