I purchased the Kling-On Ultra to protect an expensive French polish classical guitar during string changes. I decided on this product because of positive reviews. The piece that fits below the bridge was not effective at all. After the string change I removed the Kling-On protector and there were multiple tiny dents. There was no string breakage or significant accidents or hits. The only area that has the dings is directly under where the piece fits. Next string change I will just fashion some cardboard to protect the top.

I'm very sorry to hear about the marks on your guitar. I don't understand what caused them, though. Are they fingernail marks that you were hoping the top protector would prevent?

Works great; doesn’t appear to affect the sound or finish; easy on, off, and cleaning. Inexpensive too. I’ll order another one when I wear this one out.
Utilitarian and effective.
This version of the Kling-on Top Protector is the Ultra product and is thicker than the regular Kling-on product. It is thick enough for golpes and tapping. While I have not had this exact version on for long, I have had the other lighter version on three other guitars for several years and have had no problems with French polished finishes, relatively new ( several months) or much older. A good product when you want some protection without modifying the sound board. Especially important on the softer Cedar tops
