Description
The Alhambra 4P Classical Guitar is the first Alhambra classical guitar to have rosewood back and sides and an ebony fretboard, and it has become one of our best-selling guitars. Known throughout the world for its sweet and full-bodied sound, this guitar is comparable to instruments well out of its price range. With high-quality precision tuners, and a melamine nut and saddle, the instrument is a perfect combination of sound projection and durability. The ebony fingerboard is resilient to the wear and tear of everyday playing, and the four layers of light varnish provide excellent projection without compromising durability of the top. Recommended Strings: This guitar comes with D'Addario EXP44 Extra Hard Tension strings installed. These are not bad strings, but don't allow the guitar to live up to its full potential. I recommend the following strings for this guitar:

Alhambra 4P Classical Guitar
The Alhambra 4P Classical Guitar combines authentic Spanish craftsmanship with exceptional tonal qualities, offering musicians a refined instrument that honors traditional guitar-making techniques while remaining accessible to developing players.
Spanish Heritage Craftsmanship
Handcrafted in Spain, the Alhambra 4P continues a centuries-old tradition of fine guitar making. Each instrument reflects the meticulous attention to detail that has made Spanish guitars revered worldwide. The 4P is built using traditional methods that have been perfected over generations at Alhambra's workshop in Muro de Alcoy, Spain.
Luthiers carefully select each piece of wood, ensuring optimal resonance and structural integrity. The skilled artisans apply their expertise throughout the construction process, from bracing patterns to final setup, resulting in an instrument with remarkable consistency and quality.
Tonal Characteristics
The Alhambra 4P produces a warm, balanced tone with impressive projection. The solid cedar top offers rich, complex overtones that mature beautifully with playing time. Notes bloom with a sweet sustain that enhances both solo performances and ensemble playing.
Bass notes resonate with clarity and definition, while the treble strings deliver crystalline highs without harshness. This balanced voice makes the 4P suitable for diverse musical styles from traditional classical repertoire to contemporary compositions and beyond.
Comfortable Playability
The thoughtfully designed neck profile and string spacing of the Alhambra 4P facilitate comfortable playing sessions. The smooth fingerboard enables effortless navigation across the fretboard, allowing players to focus on expression rather than technique.
With moderate action and responsive touch, the 4P offers an approachable playing experience for advancing students while satisfying the demands of experienced players. The guitar responds well to various playing techniques, from delicate fingerpicking to more forceful strumming.
Elegant Aesthetics
The Alhambra 4P features refined aesthetics that honor classical guitar tradition. The natural wood grain shines through the satin finish, which protects the instrument while allowing unrestricted vibration. The hand-inlaid rosette showcases intricate craftsmanship, complementing the guitar's clean lines and proportions.
Premium tuning machines ensure stable tuning and precise adjustments. Every visual element of the 4P reflects Alhambra's commitment to creating instruments that are both functional and beautiful.
Versatile Performance Applications
Whether in practice rooms, teaching studios, or performance venues, the Alhambra 4P delivers consistent, reliable performance. Its balanced projection fills intimate spaces while maintaining clarity in larger settings.
Students find the 4P an inspiring instrument that encourages technical development and musical exploration. Teachers appreciate its responsiveness and tonal clarity when demonstrating techniques. Performers value its reliability and expressive capabilities across various acoustic environments.
Care and Longevity
With proper care, the Alhambra 4P will continue to improve sonically for many years. The solid cedar top becomes increasingly responsive with regular playing, developing additional depth and complexity in its voice.
We recommend maintaining appropriate humidity levels (40-60%) and using a hardshell case for storage and transportation. Regular cleaning with appropriate products will preserve the guitar's beauty and structural integrity throughout its lifetime.
