"Torija" by Federico Moreno Torroba (Guitarist: David Stevenson)
The Alhambra Mengual y Margarit Serie NT Classical Guitar is a truly world-class concert instrument. It's tone is absolutely beautiful and it's power and projection are at the top of its class. It is built in a very small workshop that is its own independent operation from the rest of the Alhambra facility. In this workshop, master luthiers Javier Mengual and José Margarít build this guitar from start to finish with the utmost care and artistry. (Click here to hear the pronunciation of "Alhambra".)
The Mengual y Margarit Serie NT classical guitar has thicker sides and back (3mm vs 2mm), giving it more volume and sustain. You can feel that it is heavier than a standard guitar. The top is thinner than standard, giving it very powerful volume and projection. The Serie NT differs from the Serie C only in that it uses a Torres bracing pattern. This bracing pattern gives it a beautifully full traditional classical guitar sound and very rich tones in all registers.
The Alhambra Mengual y Margarit Serie NT features Alhambra's ErgoNeck. The ErgoNeck is the result of the continuous research developed by Alhambra Manufactures to improve the ergonomics of the neck. Thus, we can favor the position of the left hand. Due to its asymmetric shape, the ErgoNeck can be adapted in a more natural way to the guitarist. (See illustration above.)

I purchased Alhambra Mengual y Margarit Serie NT Classical Guitar 2 weeks ago. WOW. That’s all I have to say about the guitar. This guitar will always stay with me even if I end up buying another one in 5 years. Geoff was very helpful. I definitely recommend purchasing your guitar with XGuitar.
This is a very heavy, very substantial guitar with excellent tone and sustain. I cannot thank Geoff enough for such wonderful customer service that goes above and beyond as always!
With some extra cash inherited, I decided to get a higher level guitar than my 8P. After checking I stumbled on the M&M NT. With its traditional cedar body, the softer Royal Classic strings and easy play, I definitely made the right choice. It took a few months to get it made and shipped here, but it was almost perfect (has a little slash mark from a string). It is bigger than my 8P, so I have to get use to holding. But play wise it is so easy and so natural sounding, I prefer to play this all the time during practice and recitals. I have also taken it on my concerts where I do duets and accompanients and sometimes solos. I also use the Royal Sonata strings which are easier on my senior fingers. In my old age, this is the last guitar for me but I am totally satisfied. I also like to thank Geoff for overseeing the purchase to give me complete confidence in the sale which lasted a few months. The French finish is delicate and thin so my guitar surface has a lot of marks already. But it still sounds great if you don't mind the look. Also some positions for hammer on/pull off like in Bach's Lute Suite are much easier on this guitar than my 8P. I made a video of my two guitars wishing me happy birthday so there are birthday wishes on the photo.
My Serie NT is the Cedar version. The guitar comes with French polished top, a pickguard (separate), a very protective case (TLK option), and a certificate of authenticity. The top looks thinner, and likely softer and easier to scratches so care must be taken to maintain it. The bridge and headstock are Cocobolo, adding to the beauty of the guitar. This guitar is very full in sound, impressively resonant with a very romantic Spanish tone. I couldn't be happier for the purchase and thanks always to Geoff who helped me get it.
