The Alhambra Luthier Rio is beautifully crafted in Spain by the two master luthiers at Alhambra, Javier Mengual and José Margarít.
This guitar features rare, straight-grain Brazilian Rosewood (dalbergia nigra). We believe that this guitar may be the last new Alhambra Luthier Rio that exists. About a year ago the Luthier Rio was changed to the name Luthier Exotico because the wood they are made from is no longer from Brazil, rather it is from Africa. (The "Rio" in the name was from "Palosanto de Rio", which is the Spanish name for Brazilian Rosewood.) This Luthier Rio is made from real Brazilian Rosewood.
This guitar has an amazingly rich and refined tone, similar to guitars of much greater value. It has a revolutionary bracing pattern that gives it a really phenomenal sound.
It's fullness, tone quality, craftsmanship, volume, projection, and playability are superb. This guitar is a wonderful example of the fine work of the luthiers at Alhambra.
The Luthier Exotico also features a 20th fret on the 1st string to give you a high C that most classical guitars are incapable of playing.
