1981 José Ramirez III Model 1A
Serial number 15483

The Blue Label, 1A Jose Ramirez Guitar is the most popular and recognizable classical guitar in the world. It is the instrument exclusively played by Andres Segovia from 1961 until the time of his passing.

The Ramirez 1A guitars of the early 1980’s were known for their power and lyrical sustain, and this one in particular has plenty of both. It’s condition would be rated as excellent but for some very minor lacquer checking - not through the top, only the finish.

Solid Western Red Cedar top
Solid Indian Rosewood sides and back
664mm scale, 54mm nut width
Action at the 12th fret: 4.4mm low E, 3.25mm high E
Original Fustero machines
Lacquer finish
Great condition with the exception of a few minor lacquer finish checks on the top, not through the wood

Hardshell case included.

Who says that a forty year old instrument can no longer sing? I practice on it everyday and I am amazed at the sound! My stony heart has now opened up like a little bird's nest. It is, after all, a Ramirez.
