All Solid.

The Alhambra 7P Cedar Classical Guitar is designed similarly to the classic Alhambra models from 70’s, but has been revivified using new technologies and superior quality woods. The body of this instrument is constructed using cedar for the top and Indian rosewood for the back and sides. The neck is made from African mahogany and reinforced with ebony, which can be seen with a mirror or by removing the nut. The nut and the saddle are made from Melamine, which is an excellent transmitter of sound and known to enhance projection. With golden machine heads and an exquisite rosette, this guitar is a polished & refined representation of the classic Alhambra instrument. (Click here to hear the pronunciation of "Alhambra".)

For an even richer sound, we highly recommend the Alhambra 8P or Alhambra 9P.  These models have a lacquer finish on the top and an innovative cross bracing system, both giving more resonance to the guitar by allowing the top to move more freely.

Top: Solid Red Cedar
Back/Sides: Solid Indian Rosewood
Neck: Mahogany
Fingerboard: Ebony
Scale Length: 650mm
Nut Width: 52mm
Finish: Polyurethane

Recommended Strings: This guitar comes with D'Addario EXP44 Extra Hard Tension strings installed.  These are not bad strings, but don't allow the guitar to live up to its full potential.  I recommend the following strings for this guitar:

Carbon: My favorite strings of all I've tried are Savarez Alliance set 540J. These strings provide great volume and resonance.  Being Carbon, they are a bit thinner in diameter than nylon strings. The tone is brighter and not as mellow as nylon strings. If you want a softer sound, nylon may suit you better.

Nylon: For nylon strings, I really like Savarez Corum New Cristal set 500CJ or D'Addario Pro Arte Dynacore Titanium set EJ46TT.  Both provide a nice round tone, good volume, and a comfortable feel.

If you would like to have strings installed other than the ones that come with your guitar, you can add the Strings Installation Service to your order.

This One is a Keeper!

First of all, thank you Geoff in facilitating a great guitar buying experience. Geoff was responsive and kept me up-to-date during the purchase process. Loved his due diligence and hand-checked check-list on the setup and condition of the guitar.

I wanted to buy an Alhambra 8p, but it was a stretch financially , so decided to go for 7p after considering other guitars in the price range (Kremona Rominda, Cordoba C10, Cordoba 45CO). The guitar arrived in pristine condition without any cosmetic or construction issues, and well packed. After tuning, started playing and it had a beautiful tone, sustain, and resonance. However, it did not meet my expectations that I had compared to C10 that I owned in the past, out of the box. Although the guitar has been setup by Geoff the best way possible, I wanted to make a few changes to improve the sound, for it to meet my previous experience with C10.

I change the saddle from stock Melamine to bone (carved from a blank for a perfect fit, which took a couple of hours) and changed the strings to Savarez New Cristal Corum HT (500 CJ). Kept tuning until strings settled a bit and played. What a marvelous sounding guitar! Tone, projection, sustain, and resonance, all have improved to a level that it surpassed my experience with C10. I’m extremely happy with the guitar and I’d be keeping this one!

I know changing saddle to bone is a debate and such a change brings different outcomes to different guitars and people. In my case, for my ears and my guitar, it worked out perfectly.

Overall, a great buying experience, a beautiful and excellent sounding guitar! Will be keeping XGuitar as my go to place for future guitar buying.

Alhambra 7P

Beautiful guitar with superb tone! My only issue is there are no indentifiers at the 5th, 7th, 9th and 12th frets like my other guitars? Thanks to the expert craftsmen who built this wonderful instrument.

Hello, Rick.

I'm glad you're pleased with your guitar! Medium to high-end classical guitars almost never have fret markers. We have some non-permanent and semi-permanent stick on fret dots available for only $3.50 for a set:

Thank you for your trust in XGuitars!

Great guitar, great service

After a lot of research I settled on the Alhambra 7P as my next guitar. I spoke with Geoff who gave me additional information and made the ordering process very easy. The guitar arrived on time and packed well to ensure it was undamaged, and when unpacked it exceeded expectations. It's a beautiful guitar in flawless condition. It has great tone and resonance, it was set up to be very playable, and the finish is perfect. I will absolutely order my next guitar from XGuitars.

Absolutely Wonderful Guitar

I purchased this Guitar from Geoff about a year ago and can honestly say that it has surpassed all expectations for a conservatory Guitar. The construction is sound with no flaws and the sound quality rivals many higher priced guitars. I have owned many different guitars including Cordoba, Kremona and Ramirez and can honestly say that Alhambra has the highest quality. These guitars are designed to be played. I also appreciate the attention to detail that Geoff gives his customers and products and would recommend anyone looking for a quality instrument, to contact Xguitars for their next purchase.
