Beautiful and functional capo/cejilla

I tried other capos that I had used for acoustic guitar on my classsical/Flamenco guitar, but they would not hold all the strings down without buzzing. I read that’s because most classical and flamenco guitars have flat necks. So I ordered this one. I love the simplicity of it. The instructions that came with it mentioned the materials, like using tennis racket string rather than nylon guitar string because it doesn’t stretch as much. It was well thought out and most of all it works, stays tight and is easy to use. The cocobolo wood is a nice touch. Also, in the instructions it mentions how to repair or replace parts. In a world of disposeable junk, this is refreshing. I love it.

Beautiful, Functional, Work of Art

It is a simple, robust design that works well and is pleasing to look at. It is serviceable, which I can appreciate when so many things we use now are throw away. Not a negative, though noteworthy, I have to use both hands to attach it to the guitar as opposed to a clip on style. Ultimately, I love it.

Beautiful Cocolobo but Rubber Pad not lovely

I like the natural cocobolo wood itself, but the black rubber pad is not fitting to cocobolo, at appearance and taste, total quality wise. Rubber is good for capo tasto purpose but I prefer red wool felt pad instead. I changed to felt pad already.
And I prefer real leather pad for neck protector instead of the fake leather. As I know the Spanish-made beautiful ones, my review became rather severe.
If I take the price into my review points, I should say Nice and good for Practical use.

Pretty But Would Never Use Live

The capo is nicely made but for me, somewhat difficult to use. And I would never try to use it live since the capo is not one piece, but rather several pieces...with the foot on the footstool and guitar in playing position, I find it difficult to place and tighten. On my Cordoba, it does not seem to press the high E string down, so it is muffled (works well on my other classical nylon guitars). The violin tuning key is pretty, but it is not threaded, but rather a traditional friction fit. So when you loosen it, it pops out. Getting it back and secured while holding the guitar in playing position is just too much trouble. And loosening it to slide to another position, well, just a pain. Also, for $30, there just is not much there. A tiny piece of wood, nylon line, piece of leather, neoprene strip, and a tuning peg. So I am disappointed. $30 spent on an item I will never use.

Hello, Jack.

I certainly understand your concern. These cejillas are really meant for people who specifically want a traditional flamenco cejilla.

It is a small piece of wood, but the wood is fairly exotic and it is handmade in the U.S.A., so I think $30 is a fair price for it.

Please let me know if you'd like to send it back for a refund.

I love the old time craftsmanship it is compact and efficient, Yet easy to repair if anything ever happened to it. An excellent pairing with the Alhambra F4 I bought here a few months ago. Thanks Again.
