I’m personally worked in sales and customer relations for the past 20 years. And my experience with XG was brilliant. Very professional, knowledgeable, efficient merchandise very reasonable priced. Could not ask for better outcome !!!!
I like the fact when I call I speak to the man in charge. He assured me if I give this to my husband for xmas and he was not satisfied I could return it even if it is over the 30 days. I like that. Came well packaged and in good shape.
Have in the past always used D'Addario Pro Arte EJ47; wanted to try Savarez. They are so exquisite in their sound! They make my Cordoba C9 sound like ,y Ramirez del tiempo! The trebles are crisp and clear; the basses are full and penetrating. I love them; my guitar teacher noticed a significant difference in the sound. I highly recommend these if you are looking for a change!
I purchased the Alhambra 9P guitar online and it arrived promptly via Fedex. It was carefully packed and arrived in perfect condition. I opted for the guitar to be re-strung prior to shipping with the Savarez Alliance - Set 540J - Classical Guitar Strings. The guitar sounds great and I would not hesitate to buy another instrument from Geoff.
I am extremely pleased with my new Alhambra 8P guitar and the service from XGuitars. I was a little reluctant to purchase an expensive guitar online before playing it, but none of the guitar stores in my area seemed to have this one in stock so I thought I would take a chance. Geoff’s liberal return policy made me feel more comfortable about it.
Excellent response time. I ordered on Sunday and received my guitar on Wednesday.
Securely packaged and arrived by UPS intact.
Shipping and Tax was paid for by Geoff.
Also included a very nice hard-shell case free of charge.
In addition, included was a music binder at no extra charge. Nice touch.
I don’t think you will find a better deal from any other online supplier.
The Alhambra 8P:
I have been playing classical guitar for about 6 years. I am an intermediate player. I do not know a lot about guitar construction but I will give you my observations from that perspective.
First of all, when I opened the case, I could see this was an amazing, quality guitar. The finish is impeccable. The moment you take hold of the neck you can feel you are handling a fine instrument. I ordered the Savarez strings at Geoff’s recommendation. They sound and feel excellent after settling in over the first couple days of playing.
The machine heads have a very precise and quality feel making tuning very easy and stable.
I was afraid the action might be too high from playing a previous Alhambra but it was perfect for me.
This guitar is easy and comfortable to play, possibly because of the “ErgoNeck”. I experienced much less string buzz, and bar chords are easier to play. Harmonics are crisp and clear with much more volume than my previous guitar.
Before this purchase, I was seriously thinking of getting some form of amplification. Not now. The Alhambra 8P does project a “robust” sound as indicated in the manufacturer’s write-up.
Hope this was helpful.
Great job locating and making this Alhambra product available. Courteous reply and assistance. Thanks!!
Good replacement fit. Be careful not to overtighten buttons . . . they crack. Can not replace individual buttons.
I received my Cordoba C12 Cedar Top guitar about two weeks ago. I am very happy and I recommend this guitar and purchasing with X Guitars. The C12 plays clear, complex tones. The finish is beautiful and perfect. This also may sound strange, but the guitar has a great scent also. I have done a fair amount of carpentry work in my life, and I love the scent of wood, and do not care for the scent of plywood, glues, etc. This guitar has an amazing unfinished wood scent from the soundhole. So, basically, the guitar has an aura around it as if it is alive because of a beautiful appearance, sound, and scent. I debated on whether or not to get the spruce or cedar. I am very happy with the cedar top because I think the sound is more complex.
The customer service from X guitars was outstanding. I ordered the guitar online, and I was thinking about just ordering it from Amazon because of equal price, and their return policy is so good, that if there was anything wrong with the guitar, I could just send it back. However, this is my first classical guitar I have purchased (I have bought other steel strings and electrics), and having Geoff, with his experience, look over the guitar and confirm its quality added a lot of piece of mind. Also, the guitar had been stored with correct temperature and humidity with X Guitars, so I felt better about its condition. There are reviews on Amazon about problems with fretboards because of incorrect storage.
I've been reading about the Cordoba C12 for a couple years and looking for a retailer in my area that had one I could play. Much to my disappointment I could not find one. Then one day an ad pops up on my computer and I discover XGuitars had the model I was interested in on a decent sale. I contacted XGuitars to learn about their terms and decided there was very little downside to ordering the guitar from them and trying it out. (If needed, their return policy was fair and reasonable.) The guitar arrived quickly, was in perfect shape, and setup nicely. It has met all my expectations for the price and is a beautiful instrument! Thank you XGuitars!
Alhambra guitars are some of the best value instruments available. I've owned 3 of them; still have 2. Three independent guitar teachers have played mine; all of them remarked on the excellent tone, solid construction, and value. I firmly believe a guitar built in Spain is better than a guitar built in China. Having visited Spain several times, their passion for the guitar shows in how they design and build instruments.
I'm small person with small hands. I decided to try a shorter scale model. The difference between a 636 scale and a 650 scale is worth it. Much more comfortable to play. I have a 650 scale 9-P to compare to the 636 scale 9-P; very little difference in volume and sustain. Well worth the change!
From start to finish, working with Geoff was an absolute pleasure. Great advice, excellent service. Should I need another guitar, I have no reason to go elsewhere.
I want to say at the outset that my experience with XGuitars has sincerely been a pleasure. They really do care about every customer.
I recently acquired a beautiful 1970 Garcia Grade 1 classical guitar. Unfortunately the tuners were in bad condition and could barely be turned by hand. I searched extensively for a replacement that was of high quality that wouldn't break the bank. Schaller Grand Tune tuners are the answer. Aesthetically pleasing and extremely well engineered and at a price point well below comparable tuners on the market.
I was frustrated however trying to find a dealer in the continental US that I could order them from directly ( I hate giving out my credit card information to anyone in a foreign country). Fortunately I found XGuitars. They didn't have the exact model I wanted in stock but placed an order directly from the manufacturer in Germany. Geoff personally kept me posted on the progress of my order every step of the way.
I will be coming back to XGuitars for all my music purchases.
Thank you for a great experience!
This case is definitely sturdy, and has plenty of room in the storage compartment. I REALLY like that is has a pair of strap hoops as the addition of a strap to the guitar makes traveling with the guitar a lot more manageable with other luggage!
Like strings never bought upgrade in strings like the sound and got a good price very happy with purchase arrived quickly free shipping
This guitar is amazing! It is very well balanced. It has an even sound through all the strings. It is powerful yet, very refined. The lows are controlled and the trebles are sweet. This guitar is a nice contrast to my Rodriguez. The Rodriguez is powerful and has a very notable "spanish" sound. Whereas the Hauser, has a more elegant and refined sound. This is a lot of guitar for the money. I would definitely recommend it!!
So far I love this guitar support. It's not quite as adjustable as some, but once you find the right placement it's very comfortable. It's also nice that you can choose to have it on your right or left leg, I've probably only played with it for about 15 hours combined so far, but the suction cups haven't slipped at all. I like that this model is offered for narrow body guitars, since I play on a 7/8 scale guitar and the sides are 3.5'' at the upper bout.
To say this guitar is magnificent would be an understatement! There is a lot of harmonic balance between the bass and treble strings on the spruce-topped model!
And Geoff setup the guitar wonderfully! Straight out of the box, it simply felt right!!! Thank you Geoff for the hard work!!!
Now... I need to go practice more so I can be worthy of this guitar!!!
Easy to use, much better than suction cups.
There are many places where you can buy guitar strings! It was my pleasure to have ordered from xGuitars.com, an online vendor I found from their website. The fulfillment of the order, prompt shipment, careful packaaging, assured me this is the place for future purchases. Along with the package, I also received a personal letter from the owner, Mr. Geoff Ferdón who introduced himself a graduate from South Carolina School of Music in 2002. Geoff also has learned a great deal about the construction and setup of classical and flamenco guitars and customer service from Alhambra USA. As the market has led itself to online venues, prior to know Xguitars.com, I have ordered my last three guitars for my students from on line sources. Now, it is with great comfort to know, Xguitars do perform instrument hand selection, detailed test and setup prior to deliver them to their customers while maintaining price competitiveness. I would determine this is a great place to purchase my future guitars.
Good tension good sound
This guitar looks so beautiful and well made. It has amazing sound in terms of tone and texture. Sounds sustain long time. The base tones are loud but it is not overwhelming. I feel this guitar will last long long time because it is so well made.
I have played the guitar for over 35 years, and my experience with XGuitars.com and Geoff has been the best I have experienced to date. Why? Responsive, fast, quality products, easy returns, customer friendly. Highly recommended!
Easy, simple tuner without unwanted buzzes.
Good sound good Alhambra 4p
Though I could have purchased my guitar from any of the other larger well known internet music sites, I purchased my Kremona F65CW Fiesta Spruce top from XGuitars for the following reasons.
1. I wrote to Geoff a few times asking for his opinions and he always wrote back with insightful comments.
2. He stated that he would provide a professional guitar setup. Something that I doubted I would get from any of the other internet sites.
Shortly after ordering my guitar I received an email confirmation. A couple of days later, I received another email stating the guitar had been shipped and I was provided a UPS tracking number.
After UPS delivered the guitar on time, I was impressed to see how well the guitar was packed in its shipping box.
My Kremona F65CW Fiesta is a pleasure to play and I would definitely recommend XGuitars to anyone that is in search of a new guitar.
For the past 17 years, I have been playing a low end student nylon string guitar. This spring, I decided to treat myself and purchase a new guitar.
After quite a bit of research I decided on the Kremona F65CW Fiesta with spruce top. I made the order on XGuitars and within a week, I received my new guitar.
The guitar was carefully packed for shipping. I opened the Kremona case and my jaw dropped when I saw this beauty.
I play fingerstyle pieces that range from blues to original pieces by Indie writers. I do not play classical music.
With that in mind, I immediately sat down with my new guitar and started playing my favorite pieces. I was struck with the richer sounds and tones my Kremona had over my older guitar.
I love this guitar and can see spending countless hours playing it.
If you are in search of a unique guitar, you can’t go wrong with the Kremona brand nor with XGuitars.
the guitar is very good thanks
Received order promptly and in perfect condition. I will continue to make my guitar purchases from X Guitars!
The Alhambra is bright and loud. The ported slots allow you as the listener to hear yourself projected. I order this guitar but ended up returning. Not because I didn't like it, I did not look to see the neck shape. It is a D shape and I am used to C shaped necks. Geoff was very professional and courteous the whole way. I am a student comparing a couple guitars and he was understanding of that, even when I had to return. Overall, Xgiutars is an amazing company to deal with. I will always go to them first!
You can see my review of the Alhambra 5P PT here. I am comparing it to my cheap Yamaha CGX102.
The craftsmanship is impeccable. This guitar projects it's sound well and the quality of it's sound is rich and clear. This makes it easier to make your dynamics and ornamentation stand out. I've had mine for over three years and it's sound has matured and is very pleasing to the ear.
The ordering process was easy and it was shipped on time. The packaging was appropriate and arrived unscathed. I did find the A(fifth) string had a slight buzz due to the nut cut just a little deep on that string. I was able to easily correct it. In general, I found the XGuitar staff responsive and helpful.
I like the guitar very much and have heard many positive comments. Transaction was impeccable. But why ask me for my opinion more than 2000 days after my purchase??
